A Content Management Solution Built for Speed
Sigma Resources develop a new content infrastructure and set of tools allowing our client to fully manage and utilize all intellectual properties across print, PDF, and multimedia content. A centralized content repository was created with workflow automation allowing for legacy and newly acquired content to be converted to xml, tagged, indexed, and classified. An automated taxonomy tool was developed utilizing machine learning, which would allow content to be searched intelligently by associated technologies. Sigma managed the full lifecycle of the project, including requirement gathering, application prototyping, system development, and interface development.
In addition, Sigma established a new content management team, which performed workflow analysis, and is responsible for document indexing/queuing and workload management. The Sigma technical team did the system/application/network design, application prototyping, implementation and support services, system interface development, and system migration strategies for the content management and workflow tools.
The technologies used on the project were Java/J2EE and XML as the development platform, Oracle as the transactional database, and MarkLogic was the document repository and NoSQL database. Automated classification was implemented with the TEMIS engine from Expert System.
The client was able to unlock value from their legacy print content, and realize new revenue streams for their business.
